The Tribal Himachal

DAY 1  Delhi to Shimla  

To arrive and check in the booked hotel. If time permitting to go for local tour of Delhi and visit the famous old streets of Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi, Red Fort, famous temples, local posh markets for shopping etc. 

DAY 2 , 3 and 4 Shimla

To check out and depart early morning for Shimla , about 475 km. On arrival to check in the booked hotel and rest of the day at leisure to do own things. Or could go for walks to the main bazaars and get to see the local Shimla life. Next day again after breakfast , to go for walks to Shimla”s finest colonial structures, shopping of local tweeds , shawls , horticultural produce like jams and squashes or to the lower bazaar for some of the finest silver jewellery or the Ladakh Bazaar and the Tibetan markets to buy local souvenirs.

Also , there are beautiful places to see nearby and guests could go for day excursions to Kufri , only 16 km from Shimla and is famous for ski slopes and fine views ! Or to Narkanda 64 km from Shimla and has a choice of ski runs , thick woods and beautiful views !

Day 5  Shimla to Manali

To check out and get driven to Manali , 260 km and on arrival to Manali ,a destination with its fertile valleys , imposing forests and fast flowing rivers , set in against the backdrop of high snow clad mountains! Check in the booked hotel and rest of day at leisure. Next day after breakfast to go sightseeing to places like Hidimba temple , is one of the best known shrines in the area. Or go and enjoy the eco-walks , and could go for  a day excursion to the famous Rohtang Pass , at height of 3,970 meters and offering winter sports like skiing , sledging etc. From Rohtang to get driven to   Keylong , late afternoon and stay the night in Keylong.

Day 6 and 7  Keylong 

On day 6 , to arrive from Rohtang , late afternoon to Keylong , which is only 65 km and to check in the booked hotel. Next day , which is day 7 to take tour to Sisu , a tourist place famous for its lake and spectacular waterfall , surrounded by towering peaks.Night stay in Keylong.

Day 8  Keylong to Kaza

After breakfast to get driven to Kaza , 185 km , takes about 4 to 4 and half hours of drive time. On arrival to check in the booked hotel. Day free for leisure activities and to visit famous monasteries the Ki , Hikkim , Komik and Langja. Night stay in Kaza.

Day 9 Kaza to Reckong Peo

After breakfast to get transfer to Reckong Peo, 190 km, takes about 4 to 4 and half hours of drive time. Also known as Peo , by the locals is a simple town and guests get to see the local life of Peo”s.

Day 10 Reckong Peo to Shimla

After breakfast to get transfer to Shimla 220 km and stay the night in Shimla and be at leisure.

Day 11 Shimla to Delhi

After breakfast to get transfer to Delhi and on arrival, depending on timings , either to stay a night in Delhi or take flight for onward destination.
