Great Kerala – Mangalore to Trivandrum approx 700 km distance ( 17 nights / 18 days )
Tour takes to a variety of destinations starting from Mangalore in Karnataka state , falling north of Kerala , travelling all the way down south to Trivandrum , through beautiful scenic destinations, hills, waterfalls, wildlife , houseboat , lovely beaches getting experience and understand life in this beautiful lush green, peaceful state.
Day 1 and 2 – Mangalore (in Karnataka state, north of Kerala)
Arrive at the Mangalore airport and transfer to the booked hotel. Day to explore tourist places , the ancient temples , the scenic land dominated by the coconut palms , the bustling port city of Mangalore, sandy beautiful beaches, the famous lighthouse, making Mangalore a destination, where tourists can spend their times in sightseeing , or just laze on the beautiful beaches and relax.
Day 3 – Bekal
Arrive at Bekal, travelling 65 kilometer, a small town famous for its great fort. Spreading over 40 acres is the biggest fort of Kerala. The golden expanse of a beautiful beach surrounding the fort, backwaters, hill destinations and water sport facilities nearby, with beautiful view of the Arabian sea, the Hanuman temple and the ancient Muslim Mosque nearly holding testimony to the age-old religious harmony, making Bekal famous for tourists to stay at least 1 night.
Day 4 and 5 – Vythiri via Muzhappilangad
Arrive at Muzhappilangad beach, the only drive - in beaches in Asia, where guests could drive 4 km full stretch on the beautiful sand. Stay for few hours and explore this most popular beach in the whole of Asia. After Muzhappilangad, transfer to Vythiri , small hill station in Wayanad state , doing about 200 kilometer and to stay night in the booked hotel.
Next day to explore this little hill station 1300m above sea level, its beautiful nature , renowned plantations of coffee, tea, spice, cardamom, pepper and rubber plantations.
Day 6 and 7 – Kozhikode ( Calicut )
Transfer to Kozhikode (also popularly known as Calicut) town 60 kilometer from Vythiri. Explore the beaches, the Beypore Port, Thusharagiri waterfalls, local streets, the famous Kadalundi bird sanctuary, the ancient lighthouse , aromatic spice gardens, country sides, the local city life and more..
Day 8 and 9 – Cochin
Transfer to Cochin doing about 195 kilometer from Calicut. Stay 2 days and explore Cochin town , famous Fort Cochin , go for local city sightseeing, visit the famous Chinese nets, historic Fort Cochin ,St. Francis Church ( 1st Church build by the Europeans in India, where Vasco de Gama was buried ) , Santa Cruz cathedral ( one of the oldest catholic churches in Kerala ) ,the Jew town ,the Synogogue ( the only one on India and one of the oldest in the world ) and the Kathakali show ( Kerala”s centuries old traditional dance form ).
Day 10 and 11 – Munnar via Athirapally waterfalls.
Transfer to Munnar. The highest hill station in Kerala, 6,000 feet above sea level and tea growing area. On arrival to check in booked hotel and later to explore Munnar. Explore the unending expanse of tea plantations , valleys, mountains , lakes , dams , get feel of cool air, visit places like the Echo point, Tata tea museum , Mattupetty ( for speed boating ) , or walk in the hills and explore Munnar and more..On way to Munnar to visit the famous waterfalls in Athirapally , 80 kilometer from Cochin and enjoy the falls and nature.
Day 12 and 13 – Thekkady ( Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary )
Transfer by car to Thekkady (Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary) visiting a spice plantation on the way. And to see great sights of wild elephants or to go for nature walk, boating or jeep safari . Stay for 2 nights and on check out to proceed for the houseboat in Alleppey.On way to do stopover for couple of hours and visit Kadathanadan Kalari centre to see the great spectacle of oldest martial art.
Day 14 – Houseboat – in Alleppey.
Transfer to Alappuzha, also known as Alleppey.
On arrival to check in the houseboat, all very clean, safe and air-conditioned varying from 1 bedroom to 3. While on board guests are served with lunch, dinner & next morning breakfast. While on cruise to stop mid-water and on a clear day to go for canoe ride surfing through the narrow canals, getting to see the local village life. To check out the next day and get transfer to Varkala.
Day 15 and 16 – Varkala
Varkala , Kerala’s second most popular beach place where cliffs are found adjacent to the Arabian sea ,string of bars and small restaurants along the cliff top, a variety of shops, temples including over 2,000 year old temple Janardana Swami. Enjoy stay here for 2 nights and then transfer to Trivandrum , also known as Thiruvananthapuram.
Day 17 – Trivandrum ( also known as Thiruvananthapuram )
Located extreme south west of India and is base to lot of state government offices and organizations.
Spend day at leisure and could visit the world famous Kovalam beach, museum, zoo, the Swamy temple and more.
Day 18 – Flight to onward destination from Trivandrum.
