Bhutan-All Classic Tour

 

Day 01 : Phuentsholing from Bagdogra (165km, approx 5 hrs drive)

This is on  day 1 where guests arrive for their Bhutan tour packages from UK and rest of the world. On arrival in Pheuntsholing (dropped by Indian counterpart) and to meet our Bhutan rep, who would get transfer to the booked hotel. If time permits to  take a stroll around Phuentsholing main street and visit Zangtho Pelri Lhakahng, the temple situated in town centre. Overnight at the hotel in Phuentsholing.

Day 02 : Phuentsholing / Thimphu (180km, approx 6 hrs drive)

Drive to Thimpu 4 km ahead of  Pheutnsholing, visit Kharbandi Gompa, the beautiful monastery situated in garden of tropical plants and flowers.

Evening, in Thimphu visit Memorial Chorten, the stupa built in memory of Bhutan’s Third King who is popularly regarded as Father of modern Bhutan. Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.

Day 03 : Thimphu

Visit to the National Library, Arts & Crafts School and Textile Museum and later drive to Buddha Point, to visit largest Buddha’s statue in the country. And thereafter visit to Changangkha Lhakhang, the beautiful temple situated on a hilltop, offering fascinating view of Thimphu valley. Also, cold visit , if time permits , local village of Bhutan, monasteries. Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.

Day 04 : Thimphu / Gangtey (150km, approx 5 hrs drive)

Visit the interesting weekend market of Thimpu.Later drive to Gangtey en route crossing Dochula pass (3080m) that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan.Also en route visit newly developed Wangduephodrang town and local market. Afternoon visit famous Gangtey monastery and village. Overnight at the hotel in Gangtey.

Day 05 : Gangtey / Trongsa (85km, approx 3 hrs drive)

Explore fascinating Phobjikha valley.Then drive to Trongsa across Pelela pass (3300m). Also visit en route Chendbji Chorten, the stupa patterned on Swambhunath in Kathmandu.Afternoon to visit Trongsa Dzong. Overnight at the hotel in Trongsa.

Day 06 : Trongsa / Bumthang (68km, approx 3 hrs drive)

Visit Ta Dzong, the museum on Bhutan’s monarchy and royal family. Later drive to Bumthang across Yutongla pass (3400m). Further ahead visit Chumey valley and Yathra (woolen fabric) weaving centre.Afternoon in Bumthang, visit ancient temples of Jambay Lhakhang and Kurje Lhakhang. Overnight at the hotel in Bumthang.

Day 07 : Bumthang

Visit Jakar Dzong and Tamshing Lhakhang. Later excursion to beautiful Ura valley, visiting village, temple. Also if time permits, visit to Membartsho, the sacred lake. Overnight at the hotel in Bumthang.

Day 08 : Bumthang / Punakha (215km, approx 7 hrs drive)

Drive to Punakha. And just before entering Punakha, a short excursion to Chimi Lhakahng also known as ‘Fertility Temple’. Overnight at the hotel in Punakha.

Day 09 : Punakha

Morning  to visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong. Later visit to Sangchhen Dorji Lhundrup Lhakhang (nunnery).Afternoon walking excursion to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten (stupa) (approx 2 hrs nature walk). Overnight at the hotel in Punakha.

Day 10 : Punakha / Paro (125km, approx 4 hrs drive)

Drive to Paro en route visiting Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the country which now houses the School for Buddhist studies.Afternoon visit to Ta Dzong, the national museum and then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong, the fortress. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Day 11 : Paro

To Taktsang monastery (Tiger’s Nest) (approx 5 hrs walk).Afternoon drive to Drukgyel Dzong, the ruined fortress. Also nearby visit a traditional farm house.Evening visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the country. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Day 12 : Paro / Delhi Druk Air

Transfer to the airport for flight to onward destination to India and on arrival in India, have options to go for a few famous tour programmes and the good one being the Golden Triangle Tour Packages in India.

Detailed itinerary would be given on request.

This Bhutan tour package from UK and rest of the world, the price would be based on 2 persons travelling together, depending on season to season, hotel categories varying from guests houses, home-stay to mid range, to high end boutique hotels and transport.

Prices would not include the costs of international flights to and from the destination. Airfares are on application.
